Mum told me she was proud of me.

Hi all, my name is Marjorie, M A R J O R I E.

From when I was 4 and a half years old to 11 years old I was at Kelston School for Deaf. When I was 11 I left and went to a hearing school. That was bad. Then I got married and I was around all hearing people for a long time.

Then I met a Deaf person for the first time, her name was Donna. She asked me to come to the Deaf Club. I said yes. I went in. There was lots of Deaf people. My jaw dropped. I couldn’t believe it. Lots of people were signing. I missed that. I really wanted that.

I invited Deaf people to come to my house for a party. There was a group of Deaf people and a group of hearing people. I signed with the Deaf people there, it made me happy and I had a good time.

My mother saw me. She was amazed about all the signing. She told me that she was proud of me, she could see I’m happy.

That’s all for today
