1. Accepting our terms and conditions
By submitting your story on our website or ticking the box next to the words "I agree to the Terms and Conditions" on our website, you signify that you accept these Terms and Conditions and you agree to be bound by them.
2. Submitting a story
Every story that is submitted will help us to understand and affirm our collective identity and pride through NZSL (New Zealand Sign Language).
Deaf Action does not necessarily endorse the stories submitted on this site. Not all stories submitted will be published on the website.
If we choose to share a story we will be in touch with the person directly to confirm permission and any changes that are made.
The Deaf Action / WatchUs team reserves the right to edit the stories for clarity and add supplementary text through the use of 'notes' to add context to a story.
All content submitted to this site will be preserved by Deaf Action.
You agree that all text, images and other content you submit for potential posting on our website (Your Content) is your original work and/or to the extent that if your content includes any text, images or other content owned by a third party, you agree that you are licensed to use and reproduce such content on our website.
It is your sole responsibility to ensure that Your Content is based on reliable factual information and that all claims made can be fully substantiated. You agree to provide further clarification to Deaf Action to support Your Content if the Watch Us team raises concerns about its accuracy.
You understand and agree that Deaf Action may, at its discretion and without notice, remove your story from our website after it has been uploaded or any of Your Content which we believe violates these Terms of Service or which is or may be false, misleading, offensive, illegal, defamatory, or infringe the rights, or threaten the safety, of others.
By submitting and posting your content on our website, you give Deaf Action, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free and non-exclusive licence to use, modify, reproduce, publish, broadcast, communicate, display and distribute Your Content in any format, using any medium, for the purpose of promotion.
To submit a story and for be it be published on the site a person must provide their full name and email address. If they wish for their story to be in the NZ Deaf Community members only section this should be indicated in the submission process to alert the website administrator.
Our website is available for your personal and non-commercial use only.
You must use our website in accordance with these Terms of Service only for lawful purposes and in a way which does not infringe the rights of anyone or restrict or inhibit anyone's use of our website.
3. General Terms
Our website may contain links to third party sites and resources. We have no control over those sites, and will not be liable for any loss or damage you suffer or incur when you use a third-party site or resource.
If you have a complaint about any content posted on this website you should notify us through the online form. Once your complaint is received, we will act on the complaint to the within 72 hours of receiving your complaint.
Our website is independent and cannot be used by or on behalf of political parties.
You use our website at your sole risk. We provide our website on an "as is" basis. We do not represent or warrant that the operation of our website will be secure, confidential, uninterrupted, error-free, accurate, complete or current.
